Ottawa PGA Junior Challenge Tour Championship
The 2008 version of the Junior Challenge tour started with a rainout and ended the same way. The players were able to finish eight holes before play had to be suspended, due to heavy rain and hail with lightning. After an hour delay the decision was made that the course would be unplayable and daylight would run out so the Championship had to be cancelled.

The day concluded with an excellent meal and then the prize presentations. Pictured here are some of the overall winners.

The Ottawa PGA Pro-Executive Tournament will be contested at the Camelot Golf & Country Club on Octoberber 1st.

    The Ottawa PGA Zone Championship

The Cornwall Golf & Country Club provided a great venue for the 31st. Ottawa PGA Championship. The weather was great and the course was in very good shape with the greens being fast. The greens being as fast as they were gave many players fits and some still thinking about their four putts.

The course proved to be tough enough that no one was able to break par on the first day with two players tied at even par, Scott Johnson from the Eagle Creek golf club and Chris Barber from the Landings Golf Facility in Kingston who was in position to capture the Championship for a third straight year. There were many players close enough to the lead to make the second day very interesting.

Chris's attempt was foiled by an exceptional round of four under par 68 for a total of 143 by Graham Gunn who is a three time winner of this event. Chris Barber and Scott Johnson finished tied for second with a total of 145.

The Ottawa PGA thanks Acushnet Canada (Titleist) for sponsoring this event which is also a qualifying event for the Club Pro Championship held in Florida in November. The top five Club Professionals are exempt to play in the Florida event which is made up of the top Club Professionals from across Canada.
